Hello I started my lucky course about a month ago, loving it as it very rewarding.
I am having some trouble and would like some assistance with the order of my stitching please.
I’m working on the cushion and unsure if I should sew the cushion boxing to the cushion plate or in another order? I have attached some photos so it helps understand what I am saying.
I have tried this in a couple of different ways.
Firstly I tried sewing 1, and 2, on on the left and right side together and then sewing it to the cushion insert. This enabled me to sew my French seam in separate parts rather than the complete seat at once, but I end up with a big mess of seams meeting and creating a lump and difficulty to sew a straight line across for my French seam.
Then I sewed the cushion boxing as one and then attached it to the cushion insert 1,to 1, and 2,to 2 which was a lot neater albeit hard to line everything up as it’s a long length to stitch, but the French seam is almost impossible to achieve as it’s on the hole seat as one which includes the back of the seat which has a cut out and a change of direction, which you can see the mess I made from the third photo as the cut out is very small and you have the whole seat in your arms and your trying to sew this tiny curve which turns back on itself. There most any easier way to do this. I really hope this makes sense.
Any help would be amazing.

From what I see, it might be best to sew the cushion boxing to the cushion plate first. This approach should give you cleaner lines and make it easier to manage the seams. Try aligning everything carefully to avoid the lumps.

Also If you have a pattern to go by , as you take it apart study the pattern to see how it was sewn. It takes some time and studying at times to figure it out. Ill mark it , study it, make some notes
along the way so I can get the easiest way.
