Is there a good way to splice closed foam? Just don't? I would have ran it long ways down the foam. This is on the turret panel I posted. (bottom center of window.

Is there something to fill a dimple in closed foam with so it won't show once covered? Like when after you've checked it all over before you cut it out and then magically the little beast show up!

You can try steam but or sanding them out before you wrap them. But honestly you just have to be really careful not to damage the foam before it gets wrapped.

No worries @Bondo497
Its a type of foam used to give a nice firm but soft feel to panels like door panels. It's really common in auto upholstery. It's not difficult to work with you just need to be careful not to damage the face of it or crease it before covering it with fabric.

@John can you post a pic of this foam? I'm sure it comes in different thicknesses, where should you use it and where should you not? Also it must be sanded but why? The reason for all these questions is because my project is going to be basically a 8'×8' Naugahyde padded room and I'm wondering if I bought the right foam for the job and best look. All the panels are going to 4 inch squares throughout and I want it to look very puffy for a lack of a better term, I bought 1/2 inch t shirt backed grey foam.

Normally it comes in 1/8" and 1/4" but I have seen other sizes
You use it where ever you want a much firmer feel than regular foam. It needs so be sanded because it has a shiny skin that glue wont stick to well.
You should be find with 1/2" scrim. If you want even more puffy you can get thicker foam. Closed cell wont give you a puffy look.
