I have lots of questions sorry.
I ordered a headliner they say it’s 5 to 6 weeks out.
I put In new Tac strip is type r and goes from the top of the door down the b puller and I have rods that the headliner slides into everything I’ve watched or read talked about first is putting on the windlace and then glue around the outside of the headliner and at the Tac strip then pull and cut rod spots tell the wrinkles are out and one video shows tucking the edge back under it self to give a clean line but I’m assuming that’s if it had the teeth tack strip.

another video showed glueing it and then stapling it.
my question is how do I hide the staples?

Can't say I've done a 38 Olds, but assuming it has a cork style tack strip i would think the staples would go in place under the window trims and door jam windlaces. But like i said, I've not had one of those so kinda hard to say for sure.

Model T i looked at a while back had panels with tacks in them that were covered in cloth so u cant see the tacks then hammered into the tack strips to hide staples. Im sure someone on here has seen something similar that can help you out. Maybe @John would have an idea.

Thank you Matt for trying to help me .
I found out today that my headliner is going to be here tomorrow.
What I’m gathering from the videos are you put the windlace on first then pull and staple same location as the wind lace.
Im going to stop by a upholstery shop here local and try to get more info on if he’s installed one on a olds like mine and hope he has.
All the stock pics of the Oldsmobile business coupe so see no other covers that goes on to his the staples.

I have these clips around the frount windshield and the quarter windows. But most are broken off I can see where they was welded to the body.
Do you know what they are called and where I can get them.

In my experience it depend if there is trim pieces to cover the staples in the tack strip. If not then you have to do the tucking method you described to hide the staples.
