BigRig, I have used this cloth a couple of times. I like it. It is velour like and yes it can have a nap but not in the traditional sense. I'm not sure on how to describe it. When I used it it really didn't matter how it laid as you could change the nap and how it laid sporadically.

O actually just did a set of seats that i screwed up on one of the cushion covers and the nap was 180° out so it looked like a completely different color. So just pay extra attention to the nap. It is a little difficult to find because it's like the opposite direction of the needle punch stitching lines or whatever you want to call the pattern.
Never used it but sounds a lot like suede. Hard to find the nap and easy to mix up. I typically draw arrows on the back of the fabric roll indicating the nap direction. That way I can lay out my pieces correctly with out having to think to hard about it.
