I would like to know too. It looks much like the hidden stitch pleats I am practicing and curved at top.

I would think the woodworker behind that upholstery had made that bench curved back. The upholster may have just ran their pleat following the framework.

Welcome to the forum @Silvija! We are happy to have you

Im not an expert in furniture upholstery but to me this look like what is called a channel back. Its very similar to the tuck and roll method used in cars.
Here is a video on channel back chairs.

The nice rounded top is most likely done with the frame, like BigRig mentioned

That's a really beautiful seat. Are you making something like this?

Thank you guys for your answers.
I have been doing an upholstery for two years. You can see it on facebook.com/BeeTexPromo
:blush: :wink:
It would not be a problem if I have just to reupholster that bench but it is brend new one. It is coming straight from woodworker.

@Silvja,

I am in the exact same predicament. I have been asked to do something out of my "scope". In this case I have given a call to an Upholster I bought my machine from and will refer this job on if he takes it.

One stitch at a time and let me tell you I can present some horrible stitches if I don't know what I am doing :rofl: :rofl:

@Silvja To me (and I've only been doing furniture for 5 years, so I could be wrong) looks like modern factory upholstery where that actually sew through fabric and the foam at the same time. If you study a stuffed channel back it always looks firm/hard. But this one looks soft and overstuffed at the top as if they had 3-4" inches of foam rolled over the back rail. I recently recovered this silver channel wingback and had to fight it to get it under the throat of my Consew 206rb. The factories must use machines with a big throat. The silver chair is foam, the floral one is cotton stuffed.
