Bit the bullet and bought an Embroidery machine. I was looking for a machine that I could customize boat carpet and seat head rests in boats, I don't do automotive. The bonus, I can do my own shirts and hat's for self promotion.
I bought a 7 needle Happy Japan model, no chinese cheap junk.
I will use the machine to make company tags to be stitched to the seat covers

I did a lot of looking, starting with the brother 800, and then it escalated fast. Plenty of great info on the BAi and Ricoma's, DO NOT BUY Chinese, been through that crap with walking foot machines.

That's awesome! I have always outsourced embroidery. How easy are the Happy Voyager machines to use?

The machine is easy to learn, what's hard is digitizing designs. I've taken an online course by "John Deer" of digitizingmadeeasy.com, I highly recommend the course, but I will say it's very time consuming to get good results. You can purchase pre made designs from his website and others, or you can contract out the digitizing and then run the files yourself whenever you want. Adding text to existing designs is relatively simple and many people do that.
