I'm using medium density 4" foam for outdoor cushions. Should I wrap them with water proof plastic before putting them in the cover or would that cause them to mold. The cushions will be in a porch with minimal sunlight exposure. Anything else I should consider? Thanks

I cover all of the foam in bass boat seats. Mold or mildew hasn't been an issue, even with boats that get covered up at the end of the day.

That's a topic with a lot of varying opinions among trimmers. Some people swear by the plastic cushion wrap. In my experience it have seen more often that the water still finds its way in and cant evaporate due to the plastic. That is why I never use plastic wrap . I have never done any tests or heard of anyone testing out what works better.

My opinion if you are using an outdoor rated fabric you should be just fine without. If they get wet make sure to set them in the sun to dry out.
