Hey guys just wanted to give @LeatherJohnny a big welcome.

LeatherJohnny has some good experience. Im happy to have him here. He also has an upholstery YouTube channel called Delta Johnny. Here is the link if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4jfV- ... Nm_bxXhLzA

Johnny does things a little different than me and its always great to learn different methods used by trimmers all over the world!

Here is one of his videos.

Hey!!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, and I'm very happy that John created this forum! I searched Internet for a forum like that and it did not exist, and the only one that I found changed just when I found it and only was only possible to join it if one was a professional trimmer, with shop and everything... I'm really happy that I can learn in this incredible forum with so nice and helpful forum users! :nerd:

In relation to my first upholstery job, I would not be able to tell you how many hours it took... I admit that it was quite a challenge, because leather does not give you a second chance, and a mistake is very costly...

A problem that I have is that I don't have a lot of space and it would be really useful to have a big table as most upholstery shops have, to be able to extend the hydes when I am making the patterns... :cold_sweat:

I would LOVE to do other automotive projects, and I am sure that things would be easier, having learnt some tricks with this first project, and being able to search this forum for advice and inspiration. It required me lots of effort to convince my wife to allow me to buy the industrial sewing machine, and I have to use it so that she does not remind me how much it costed if I do not use it :joy: :joy: :joy:

I'm glad you found this forum too, I know I am! Even though I cut up a lot on here I am listening and learning as much as I can. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has a wife that reminds us of money taken out of the cookie jar! She should have put cookies in the jar and only cookies would be missing. :scream:

:joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: Our wives are very patient with us! I also like metalworking, and when I'm grinding or welding, or I work with leather, foam, sewing, etc, when she sees the particles, dust, threads, foam dust... that I leave behind, she always says that she does not like my hobbies!

:joy: :joy: :joy: You are 100% correct!! And my mother in law comes to my rescue and always defends me and tells her daughter: "you are very lucky with your husband" when I fix at their home what I see that needs some help :relaxed:

I learnt an English phrase in English that I remember often: "A happy wife is a happy life" so, if we make happy our wife (or mother in law) by doing something that we like, we get the best of both worlds
