Hey I have a question about the head liner That I want to put in my old truck It is a 41 Chevy. The old head liner is two pieces and made of cardboard. But it looks like the inside of a rugby ball all some what round. Not sure if I can use the cardboard pieces I have a make a buck / mold to form the ABS to. Anyone have any ideas on these older trucks. There are three moulding strips the screw up to the roof support strips one in the front, one in the middle, and one at the rear. Thank you for any suggestions. Ron

I own a 39 Chevy truck but I chopped the top and it never had a headliner so I can’t picture the braces. Can you snap a photo and post it? I’m not totally sure abs will mold into the tighter back corners that well. You could possibly get the top area and the sides and around the back glass, but then you’d want to use chipboard for the corners with relief cuts to help it shape. Then it’s a a bit messy. But add some thing fiberglass over the chip board and stiffen it up and make it solid so it can be pulled out later and covered.

Thank you Cody and John, I just ordered that ABS headliner. I had planned to build a mold out of styrofoam mold it and then lay 3 or 4 layers of fiberglass and then try to cut a pattern so I could glue up 1/4 inch foam and then the Vinyle. and that would have been a big job but I think that it would have looked great.
As for uploading photos I need to figure out how to do that since I am computer challenged at 75 years old and still working to support the truck resto mod.
