@John Do you, or anyone on here, know a way to separate the dash on a Honda? It has a glue between the top, where the pad is, and the bottom. I have tried acetone, adhesive removere, thinner and heat to try to separate but no luck. Also, what is the best way to remove the pad?

No worries on the repeats.

I have not done one of those but most likely its one of 2 ways. There are screws or some form of faster from behind that you need to undo.
Or the panel has plastic studs that are melted over from the back side that hold the 2 pieces together.

That is exactly what I thought too. Took out the screws and still stuck together. There is a glue that runs around the entire panel that is maybe 1/8"thick that bonds the upper and lower panels together. It is super tough. I have almost broken the plastic trying to pry it apart. I really want to wrap the dash to match the rest of the interior. However, at this point I am not sure if I can even do it to where there is no edge.

I ran out of the "cheap" vinyl that I was using for the seats and started using the All-American that I got from sailrite. Wow, what a difference. I really like this stuff and it looks great. Makes me want to go back and redo the rest of the seats now.

I like the Naugahyde too! You alignment mark notches are to big buddy.

Yeah, I'm working on the alignment marks. But, when your about half blind it comes with the territory.
This stuff cuts better, doesn't stretch all out of shape in an instant and feels nice too. After using the other stuff I was worried about wrapping my dash and door panels, but with this I am feeling more confident about it now.

You have to like the look too. It does not have the artificial leather grain or look. It is a pretty smooth old school vinyl and the fabric back is Naugahyde all the way. Naugahyde has a great vinyls.

At some point I will sew enough of these headrests to get them right.
Also, these headrests have a plastic lock to hold them together, would a zipper or velcro better or just as good?

I’ve worked quite a few pre sewn kits. I’ve had head rests in both the plastic j clip and Velcro. They both worked well. I did like the j clips better. Little harder to connect sometimes but felt it seemed more sturdy if it was a tight cover.

I agree. I like the j clips best. What the trouble your running in to on the head rests?

Sorry for high-jacking post but very similar question. In my headrests J-clip is built into headrest frame and on cover there is 2 strips with a "tooth" like on a picture. Is there a place where I can buy new ones? What do they called so I can google it?

I get it they can be reused but the ones I have will be junk by the time I finish practicing. I thought about not practicing with them, then I tried to attach just one and broke 4 needles. So I do need to practice A to Z with those things and ideally I want new ones to finish project.

I am having issues around the bottom of the headrests. The material either bunches up (too much material), hangs or just isn't as contoured as it should be. I believe that 95% of the issue is my skill level. I understand what it should be doing but getting that information from my head to the sewing machine is the problem. Unless you have some very special words of wisdom, practice is the only solution.

Fitment elsewhere seems to be good. I actually made my own pattern for these to give me the look that I am going for by combining the cloth and the vinyl.

Same issue here with using up the clips. I see where Albright's has the J part but not the straight part that you are holding. I need to find those as well.
