Hi

So glad I found this foum and have been reading various threads to try and find the recommended route to go with my little project  . I've recently purchased a new car which came with some Recaro Pole Position seats however the cushions have seen better days. As I have a industrial brother sewing machine at home was thinking it would be a good winter project to create some new cushions for the car.

I've found https://www.scotlandshop.com/ and am leaning towards using Tartan for the cushions.

1. Would it be best to opt for using Polyviscose fabric or Wool? - The car will be mainly used in the summer on weekends.
2. I assume Scrim foam (3mm) would be a must, right?

Any other tips are welcomed and words of encouragement as this is seriously out of my comfort zone and plan to undo an existing cushion cover, use the fabric pieces as templates on some scrap fabric and test the process - create a new cushion cover. Only then will I venture on to some actual Tartan

Thanks in advance

Hi Dee,

The wool may tailor better but the polyviscose may be your better option as the doublerub count on it should be 100,000-200,00 making it a better option for that seating.
